Rotorua Airport is a small commercial use airport located 6km away from Rotorua. The airport has two runways, one asphalt and one grass. Simultaneous take-off and landings is restricted due to the close proximity of the two runways at Rotorua Airport. There is a single terminal building which contains a Relay Bookstore, small café and meeting room facilities. Unfortunately there is no VIP lounge located at this airport. A number of airlines operate scheduled domestic services from the airport. The airport’s runway was extended in 2009 and can now handle narrow bodied jets such as Airbus A320s and Boeing 737s. Maintenance hangers are located at Rotorua Airport alongside fuelling facilities.
