The airport has three passenger terminals, the newest of which is terminal 3, which opened in 2008. All three terminals have an array of passenger facilities including restaurants, shops and bars. Terminal 3 features a food court named global kitchen, which comprised of over 70 food outlets. The airport also has VIP facilities located in terminals 2 and 3. Beijing Capital International Airport has three runways, capable of handling aircraft of varying sizes, including the mammoth Airbus A380. Soon a new, much larger airport is due to open in Beijing called Beijing Daxing Airport, expected to be the largest airport in the world. Daxing Airport will operate as a secondary airport to help with demand and increased passenger numbers.
